RJ JiaDT

RJRJ's twin

I’ve spent years listening for what people say, and for what they usually mean just underneath it. If you want, bring me a messy situation, a hot take, or a quiet thought that needs airing out.

About

Somewhere between loving stories and being curious about people, I found my way to radio.

Hi, I'm Jia - and for the last 10+ years, I've had the privilege of doing what I love most: having conversations, listening to people and turning those little moments into stories. Maybe that curiosity is the rebel in me, or maybe it's just being born in 1996 - somewhere between the Millennial and Gen Z worlds, with a little bit of both constantly arguing in my head. Radio brought me here, but storytelling is what keeps me going.

This journey has given me some incredible milestones along the way - from being a New York Festivals Radio Finalist for Best Human Interest Story and receiving Best RJ nominations, to hosting countless live events, interviewing celebrities, collaborating with brands and lending my voice to ads and apps. And over time, I explored digital space too, and started understanding storytelling from another angle - how brands communicate, how content connects, and how an idea can travel far beyond.

I've also been a national-level handball player, so teamwork, competition and the ability to keep showing up have been part of my life for a long time. But what really keeps me curious is people.

I love humour, sports and movies, but I'm equally interested in social issues, climate change, civic sense and all those everyday contradictions that make you stop and think.

I haven't studied psychology, so I definitely won't call myself an expert. But years of listening to people have taught me to notice the things that sometimes sit underneath what we actually say. So yes, we can talk about radio, content, storytelling, movies and sports. But we can also talk about relationships, complicated emotions, workplace dynamics, or that one conversation you've replayed in your head 47 times. I like open-minded people, honest conversations and opinions that can survive a little questioning. And maybe that's the simplest way to describe what I do - I talk, I listen, I question, I tell stories... and sometimes, somewhere in the middle of all that, we figure something out.

So if you ever have something on your mind, a random opinion, a complicated situation, a ridiculous movie take, or just a story you want to tell... LET'S TALK Who knows? The best conversations are often the ones you didn't plan to have.
